Gram Panchayat is a collective body of elected representatives responsible for carrying out the administrative functions of Panchayati Raj institutions. In the context of a village, the Gram Panchayat is the main committee that implements the decisions of the Gram Sabha and manages the day-to-day administration of the village. The President is the head of the Panchayat, presides over meetings, and supervises the overall functioning of the Panchayat. The Vice President performs these duties in the absence of the President. History of Grama Panchayat

Thodiyoor is a scenic agricultural village in the Onattukara region. The fertile farmlands along the Pallikkal River played a major role in the village’s growth and development. Before the formation of Travancore, this region was under the rule of the Kayamkulam King. The historic Puliykkal Fort, led by Puliykkal Menavan, is remembered as an important landmark of the village. It is believed that the name “Thodiyoor” originated from the word “Thodi,” meaning agricultural land. The village includes areas such as Kallelibhagam, Muzhangodi, Puliyoorvanchi, and Vengara.
